Francesco, who holds both a CAIA and CFA Charter, has joined ICG from BlueBay Asset Management, where he worked for six years, most recently as Sales Director of Italy. Prior to that, he worked as an Associate Director at Russell Investments. Earlier in his career he worked for several years at UBS.
At ICG, Francesco’s role will be to broaden client relationships in his local market. His appointment is part of a wider focus for ICG on Italy; in September, ICG announced the opening of a dedicated investment office in Milan enabling Luigi Bartone, Head of ICG Italy, and his team to work more closely with new and existing portfolio companies. ICG already has a number of local investments including DOC Generici, one of Italy’s largest independent generic pharmaceutical companies.
Andreas Mondovits, Senior Managing Director and Head of Marketing and Client Relations at ICG, said:
Italy is an important market for ICG, both from a client and an investment perspective. We have had a presence here for several years and given the rising demand for alternative investments from local investors, we believe now is the right time to extend that by appointing a dedicated resource. Francesco is an Italian national with a strong track record in building client relationships and we are delighted he has chosen to join us.
Francesco Girino said:
ICG has a tremendous reputation as an investor and for delivering on the needs of its clients. I am delighted to have joined the Company as it seeks to extend its presence in Italy.
