ICG appoints Peter Lockhead as Managing Director to its Direct Lending team

Expansion of team reflects ongoing growth opportunities

Intermediate Capital Group (ICG), the specialist asset manager, is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Lockhead as a Managing Director in its Direct Lending team, effective 1 June.

Reporting to Max Mitchell, Head of Direct Lending, this is a new position to reflect both the growth in AUM within ICG’s direct lending strategy and ongoing market opportunities. Joining ICG from Avenue Capital where he was Portfolio Manager and Head of Direct Lending since 2012, Mr.Lockhead brings to the firm an outstanding track record gained from over 25 years of lending and is highly regarded in the industry.

At ICG, he will be responsible for identifying, analysing and executing investment opportunities for the European direct lending business, which funds have successfully deployed over Euro 4 billion of capital since inception in 2013.

Commenting on the appointment, Max Mitchell said:

“We are incredibly excited to welcome someone of Peter’s calibre to ICG. In just five years, we have established a market leading direct lending platform and with the recent addition of an ABL capability, we are constantly evolving our strategy. Peter joins us at an exciting time as banks continue to retrench from lending, and we will benefit greatly from his experience and deep knowledge of the sector.”
